Deleted a design by mistake? Home Planner keeps it in Recently deleted for 14 days. How to restore it, what the plan limit changes and what to do after 14 days.

You deleted a design and now you want it back. Home Planner keeps every design (project) you delete in Recently deleted for 14 days. You can bring it back to My Designs in three steps. (Some messages in the app call a design a "room".)

After 14 days it leaves Recently deleted for good, but you may still recover it from a 3D photo of the room or from a copy you saved earlier. This guide covers each route, the plan limit that can stop a restore, and when to contact support.

Removed the app or moved to a new phone? Recently deleted won't help here. Start with how to move your designs to a new device: a paid plan syncs all your designs, and the free plan backs up one of them.

How it works

  1. Open Recently deleted on the My Designs screen.
  2. Select the design and choose Restore.
  3. Find the design again in My Designs, in its room-type folder.

A free design slot in your planA design in Recently deleted doesn't use a slot. After a restore it counts toward your plan again: 10 designs on the free plan (more if you have bonus designs), 20 on PRO, no limit on PRO+.

Can't find the design? It may be in another account: see how to find your Home Planner account.

How do I restore a deleted design in Home Planner?

Open Recently deleted on the My Designs screen, select the design and choose Restore. The entry appears only when you have at least one deleted design.

  1. Open My Designs.
  2. Select Recently deleted (N), where N is the number of deleted designs. On a phone it's a row under the header. On a tablet or computer it's a button in the right toolbar. The last tile of the room-type list, Recently Deleted, opens the same place.
  3. Select the design you want back. You can select several at once.
  4. Select Restore, then select Restore again to confirm. With several designs selected, the confirm button shows the count, for example Restore (3).
  5. After you restore one design, Home Planner shows Room moved to followed by the folder name. Open that folder in My Designs to continue.

If the design doesn't come back: check how many designs you have. If you have reached your plan's limit, Home Planner can't restore another design. Remove a design you no longer need, or move to a plan with more designs, then select Restore again.

To remove a design from Recently deleted permanently, select it and choose Delete Forever. Home Planner asks Delete room? first. After that, the design can't be restored.

Can I restore a design after 14 days?

Not from Recently deleted. You can still get the room back from a 3D photo of it, if you took one. Each 3D photo of your own design keeps a copy of the room in it.

  1. Open My Photos.
  2. Select the photo of the room, then open its three-dot menu.
  3. Select Edit Room. Home Planner opens the room behind the photo as a new design in My Designs. The photo stays as it is.

Edit Room appears only on your own photos. Like a restore, it needs a free design slot. On the free plan it works for photos from the last 3 days. For an older photo, Home Planner shows Editing old photos is only available for PRO Members: upgrade to edit, or select Visit Room to look around the room without editing.

How do I protect a design before a big change?

Save a copy first. Undo helps only while the design is open: it remembers up to 50 steps and resets each time you open the design.

  1. Open the design.
  2. In the 3D view, select the share button in the right toolbar.
  3. Select Save a Copy.

If the change goes wrong, open the copy and continue from there. The copy is a separate design, so it uses a slot of your plan.

If you remove the app or lose your device, cloud sync protects all your designs at once. With a paid plan and a signed-in account, Home Planner keeps your designs in the cloud, so they come back after you remove the app or change devices. On the free plan, Home Planner backs up one design while you're signed in. The others stay only on the device and can't be restored once the app is removed. Read how to move your designs to a new device.

When should I contact Home Planner support?

Contact support when the design isn't in Recently deleted or in another account, and you have no photo of it.

  1. Select the three-dot button (⋯) on the home screen or in the editor.
  2. Select Help and Feedback, then Report a Problem.
  3. In the Support window, select Contact via Email.

Home Planner adds technical details about your device to the email. Add the name of the design, the date you last saw it and the sign-in option you use.
